Archiving Policy

The Scientific Journal of Information Systems (JISI) has electronic backup and preservation access to its journal content through the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN).

PKP has developed a PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) to digitally preserve the OJS journal with the LOCKSS and CLOCKSS programmes.

LOCKSS
The Open Journal system supports the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) system to ensure a secure and permanent journal archive. LOCKSS is open source software developed at the Stanford University Library that enables libraries to preserve selected web journals by regularly polling registered journal websites for newly published content and archiving them. Each archive is continuously validated against other library caches, and if content is found to be corrupt or missing, another cache or journal is used to restore it.

CLOCKS
The Open Journal system also supports the CLOCKSS (Controlled Lot of Keep Stuff Safe Copies) system to ensure a secure and permanent journal archive. CLOCKSS is based on the open-source LOCKSS software developed at the Stanford University Library, which enables libraries to preserve selected web journals by regularly polling registered journal websites for newly published content and archiving it. Each archive is continuously validated against other library caches, and if content is found to be corrupt or missing, another cache or journal is used to restore it.
